Harry ‘Houdini’ Hardwick 8-3-0 is an English professional Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Featherweight division. A professional competitor since 2015, he has competed for ICE FC, BAMMA, M4TC, Bellator, FNC and Cage Warriors.
I’d like to kick things off by thanking you for taking the time to speak to me again Harry and also to congratulate you on your recently announced inclusion for the CW140 Card.
How has training been going in the build-up to your highly anticipated return to the cage?
“Training has been good, I always train very consistently, it’s just how I live.”
Not much has been able to stand in your way in the proverbial Lion’s den on recent outings. Undefeated throughout your 2021 campaign with wins over Karlo Caput, Jean N’doye and most recently Konmon Deh at CW129 in October.
It is the perfect complement to your willingness to thrive in the London based organisation. What have you taken from your hatrick of W’s in 2021?
“The three wins in one year were really nice, it was easily the best year of my career. there was still a lot to take from them, as far as stuff I did badly is a concern, also there are entire massive areas of my game that I didn’t get to show in any of them, which I still can’t wait to surprise people with.”
The next step along your professional journey will be squaring off against Italy’s Federico Pasquali. An undefeated warrior and one of the latest additions to the CW roster could be your biggest test to date.
What do you make of Federico in the build-up to your scheduled meeting on June 25th?
“Federico is dangerous in some respects, but in all honesty, the level of competition he’s fought in his career has been so shockingly bad. Other than that, fairly premature stoppage of a McBain that didn’t look himself. It’s hard to actually know where Federico is at in a lot of aspects of fighting but I don’t really care if I’m honest.”
You and your brother George have made quite the impact and names for yourselves under the CW banner. George takes his chance in London on July 22nd against Kyle Driscoll, a long-overdue opportunity to potentially become king of the Lightweight Division.
If successful in Dublin, a quadruple of W’s in my mind would put you in a prime position to potentially have a title clash of your own. Is this something that you’ve been contemplating at all?
“Me and George will have eaten Parmos off our own Cage Warriors championship belts by the end of the year. (unless Graham explicitly tells us not to ruin the belts by doing that.)”
A sell-out in a small space of time has brought forward more spaces to be made available for Graham Boylan and his team’s visit to the SSE Arena in Dublin. Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?
“Big Mike Thcamou is someone I’m looking forward to watching, can’t wait to see him getting another massive knockout. I also can’t wait to watch Burlinson take the belt in the main event.”
Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?
“Throw beers into the cage when I win please.”
