3 Undefeated Prospects At UFC 294 To Watch Out For

1. Sharabutdin “Bullet” Magomedov:

Overview:

Magomedov stands at 6 feet 2 inches tall and is a new upcoming prospect in the middleweight division. At age 29,there is a lot of hype behind Shara as he is 11-0.This coming weekend at UFC 294 he opens the card against his toughest test yet in Bruno Silva.Magomedov’s last fight ended just 8 seconds into the first round, 34 year old Silva looks to derail his hype. Silva has defeated Brad Tavares this year but his most notable fight was against former middleweight champion and current light-heavyweight title contender Alex Pereira, where they went 3 rounds and Pereira came out on top.

Fighting Style:

He looks to utilize knees with many finishes coming from his effective striking and knee game. Only 1 of his 11 fights have gone to decision with 10 being by TKO/KO. He has a Lethwei style utilizing his height and kickboxing. Furthermore, he switches stances often and effortlessly making him tricky to defeat. Knees in the Thai clinch will be something he utilizes as he effectively uses it in multiple fights before. He also wears his opponents out with his high volume to the body. Evidence to show this is his brilliant body side kick highlighting his great distance control.Shara makes his debut at UFC 294

2. Muhammad “The Punisher” Mokaev:

 Overview and Fighting Style:

Mokaev also comes from a Russian background like Magomedov and is also undefeated with a professional record of 10 wins and 1 no contest. Being aged 23, he is young yet has good experience as this will be his 5th fight in the UFC. Mokaev is a Submission specialist with 3 of his 4 wins in the UFC coming Via submission including his resilient win in which he came back from a knee bar severely damaging him but in front of a sold out 02 Arena in London he secured a neck crank in the third round to win. This displayed Mokaev ’s determination and heart but also his world class grappling. He has a good pace in the octagon putting a lot of pressure on opponents similar to Colby Covington and then using his wrestling.

Opponent:

He will be facing Tim Elliott, a veteran of the division aged 36 and has been around the division since its conception. Elliott fought greats like Benavidez, Johnson and Dodson but always came up short. But is now on a 2 fight win streak and looks to challenge the undefeated prospect. Both fighters are strong grapplers as fans hope to see how good Mokaev is against a experienced wrestler like Elliott to give him a challenge and see if Manchester’s Muhammad Mokaev is the real deal at UFC 294.

3. Javid “The Snow Leopard” Basharat:

Overview:

Basharat is 28 years old, born in Afghanistan and fights out of London, England. Basharat is 5 feet 9 inches and fights in the bantamweight division. A record of  14-0 and a product of the Dana White Contender Series. Looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow Contender Series star and gold standard of the Bantamweights Sean O’Malley. Basharat fights out of highly acclaimed gym Xtreme Couture, who have had recent successes with Jiri Prochazka and Sean Strickland. With 3 decision wins a row in the UFC. Baharat’s opponent,  Victor Henry is 2-1 in the UFC with all fights going to decision like Basharat. Henry most notably fought Raphael Assuncao.

Fight Style:

Javid is a very well rounded fighter with all the skills, this is shown through his record of 5 knockouts and 6 submissions. Basharat is tall and patient striker quite similar to current Bantamweight champion O’Malley. This is suggested through his effective stance switches, teeps to the body regularly and straights that are effective. He similarly moves in and out of the pocket very well. UFC 294 will be a bigger test for Basharat in his bid to climb up the bantamweight rankings. But with Xtreme Couture and Eric Niksik in his corner anything is possible for the undefeated bantamweight contender.
