Italian MMA has managed to dig its heels into the battleground that is the top dog for European fighters out to write the story of their journeys the way that it should be told when Cage Warriors is the architect behind the vision with a clear path to the top at the end of the rainbow’s arc. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet the latest Adonis whose heart of raging flame makes him the newest thoroughbred in the welterweight race for the promotion. A professional mixed martial artist since December 2018 and representing MMA Fight Academy, Sergio Gavinelli owns a 5-2 record in seven contests comprised of two knockouts, two submissions and one decision. Gavinelli has finished four out of his five wins overall during his career in the professional MMA ranks. The majority of his victories over the course of his time as a professional MMA fighter have been inside the distance. Gavinelli is 1-0 under the Cage Warriors banner with one finish in his only appearance with the organization to show for it so far under his belt.
At APC 11, he submitted Mattia Tedesco in round one via rear-naked choke. Gavinelli defeated Tedesco for the second time at APC 12 via unanimous decision. He defeated Lincker Borges via technical knockout in the third round at The Golden Cage 4. Gavinelli tapped out Domenico Faccineri via rear-naked choke in the first round at Born To Fight Genova In The Cage.
Then in his promotional debut with Cage Warriors on the preliminary card of Cage Warriors 167, he defeated Helio Hernandez via TKO in round one. The win scored Gavinelli the second knockout victory of his professional career in addition to his first win under the Cage Warriors banner. Opponents will certainly have a monumental task ahead of them when squaring off against this gladiatorial giant!
