There is no greater feeling for a professional athlete than receiving an opportunity to fight in the comfort of their backyard as a way of thanking the faithful fans who have contributed to supporting the prospective fighter over the year-by-year journey. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to the newest clan keeper ready to rally the masses and capture the spirit from Braehead Arena in Glasgow at Cage Warriors 176 on September 7. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2023 and representing Scottish Hit Squad, Ryan Campbell holds a 1-0 record with his only victory in the professional MMA ranks coming via decision. He has fought for Budo Fighting Championships. Campbell has gone to the scorecards a single time during his professional career sweeping them all across the board on that occasion over a period of three rounds and a duration of 15 minutes. Campbell has spent his entire career as a professional MMA fighter in the United Kingdom. He also fought for several promotions in his home nation of Scotland as an Amateur including On Top Promotions prior to turning professional.
In his professional MMA debut in the main event of Budo Fighting Championships 59, he faced Oskar Smiekel and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision. The win earned Campbell the first decision victory of his professional career in addition to win number one under the Budo Fighting Championships banner. He also picked up his first victory inside the professional ranks in the process.
In his promotional debut under the Cage Warriors banner on September 7 at Cage Warriors 176, he will face off against fellow Cage Warriors debutant Shahram Hotak in an encounter at Lightweight. Other Scottish fighters that are set to be featured on Cage Warriors 176 include Regg Hingston and Keir Harvie. The event will also feature the Prizefighter Welterweight tournament. Good luck Ryan!
