Returning to the sport after an extended absence is never without its learning curve in the fight game. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a tactician of the Scottish past ready to return to his golden years when PFL Europe makes their Glasgow debut at the Hydro on September 28 with the past and future stars of Scotland coming together as a single entity. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2011 and representing Higher Level Martial Arts under head coach James Doolan, Brian Hyslop holds a 6-3 record in nine contests comprised of three decisions, two submissions and one knockout. He has fought for various promotions throughout his career in the professional ranks including Cage Warriors and BAMMA. Hyslop has spent his entire career as a professional MMA fighter in the United Kingdom.
In his professional MMA debut, he faced Darren Gilchrist and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision. Hyslop submitted Barry McGuigan via rear-naked choke in the second round at On Top 2. He defeated Shamsul Haque via technical knockout in round one at On Top 3 to secure his first and only knockout win as a professional. Then in his lone appearance under the BAMMA banner at BAMMA 8, Hyslop defeated Ian Malone via unanimous decision. He defeated Declan Williams at Vison FC 3 The Uprising to secure his third decision win as a professional. Hyslop submitted John Spencer in the first round at Budo 5. The victory earned Hyslop the second submission win of his professional career. He also picked up his sixth win inside the professional ranks in the process.
In his promotional debut under the PFL Europe banner at PFL Glasgow on September 28, he will take on Matiss Zaharovs in a showcase affair at Bantamweight, Good luck Brian!
