Rodrigo Cavalheiro aiming for the Brave welterweight belt
Rodrigo Cavalheiro made a statement with his victory in Belfast against Karl Amoussou. Cavalheiro was considered as an underdog leading to the fight. The victory gave him an advantage in the race to stay ahead in the highly competitive welterweight division of Brave Combat Federation. Currently undefeated in Brave Combat Federation, Cavalheiro had improved in career record to 22 wins and 7 losses. The welterweight fighter from Brazil was initially set to face Carlston Harris at Brave 8 hosted in Brazil. However, Harris landed in the title fight since Mohammad Fakhreddine had to withdraw from the bout due to medical reasons. Harris went ahead to win the championship. After his knockout victory in Belfast, Cavalheiro and his fight team are campaigning for a championship match against Harris. However, Jarrah Al Selawe who has the most wins in the promotion is currently leading the spot for the number one contender for the championship. Al Selawe and his team have not responded to the message from Cavalheiro, “I want to be one of the big names in the Brave Combat Federation. So I am ready to fight as soon as possible for the championship. My aim is to fight in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. As a fighter, it will be the greatest honour and privilege to be crowned as a champion by Sheikh Khalid. There is no promotion in the whole world which is capable of giving such a great honour for athletes other than Brave Combat Federation”, said Cavalheiro who currently trains at the Noguchi Academy.
