UFC 205 Revisited

A year ago we had one of the most historic cards in UFC history. After years of lobbying the UFC finally made it to New York. The UFC stacked the card with 3 Title fights, headlined by Eddie Alvarez defending his UFC Lightweight Title against the then UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor. The Irishman was aiming to be the 3rd man to hold UFC titles in two different weight divisions and the 1st to hold two belts at the same time. McGregor was almost faultless and punch perfect in dismantling Alvarez in two rounds, its a shame that McGregor hasn’t stepped inside a UFC cage since. Woodley and Thompson gave us a Welterweight Title fight which will live long in the memory, and Miesha Tate announced her retirement after losing a decision to Raquel Pennington. It was a truly memorable night, courtesy of BT Sport relive the evening. Main Card (on Pay-Per-View):Eddie Alvarez (28-4) vs. Conor McGregor (20-3)* Tyron Woodley (16-3) vs. Stephen Thompson (13-1)** Joanna Jedrzejczyk (12-0) vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-0)*** Chris Weidman (13-1) vs. Yoel Romero (12-1) Miesha Tate (18-6) vs. Raquel Pennington (8-5)
