Across The Pond Profile: UFC fighter Tafon Nchukwi

Many prospects throughout the four-season run of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series are gifted fighters with naturally born talents. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a Chesapeake cannon whose hot salvos have him ready to unleash the fire as he sets sail with the UFC. A professional mixed martial artist since March 2019 and representing Team Loyd Irwin, Tafon Nchukwi owns an undefeated 4-0 professional record with all four of his victories as a pro-MMA fighter coming via knockout. Nchukwi earned his contract from the UFC on week six during season four of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2020. He has also fought for Cage Fury Fighting Championships in addition to Shogun Fights and has made it out of the first round twice in his pro career with two first-round finishes. Nchukwi has yet to see the scorecards in his time thus far as a professional mixed martial artist.

In his MMA debut at CFFC 73, he faced Alex Meyers and went on to defeat him via TKO in the second round. Nchukwi defeated AT McCowin via TKO in round one at Shogun Fights 23. Then in his second and final appearance with Cage Fury Fighting Championships at CFFC 80, he defeated William Knight via TKO in the first round to make it two in a row with Cage Fury Fighting Championships.

For the main event of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series week six of season four, Nchukwi knocked out Al Matavao in the second round. The victory earned Nchukwi the fourth knockout win of his professional career. He also picked up a contract from the UFC in the process. At 4-0 with knockout power that hits like a cannon, Nchukwi is one power puncher that is set to explode when he locks in on the sweet spot!
