Across The Pond Profile: UFC fighter Jared Vanderaa

In order to chase the UFC dreams that all MMA fighters covet, global experience is a key part of the narrative. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a boulder of brute strength ready to roll past the competition. A professional mixed martial artist since June 2015 and representing Team Quest, Jared Vanderaa owns an 11-4 record in 15 professional bouts comprised of seven knockouts, three submissions, and one decision. Vanderaa secured his contract from the UFC on week eight during season four of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2020 and has also fought for Legacy Fighting Alliance and the South African MMA promotion EFC. He has finished 10 of his 11 victories in his tenure thus far as a pro-MMA fighter and has only made it on to the scorecards once in his career.

In his MMA debut, he submitted John Rizzo via rear-naked choke in the first round. Vanderaa defeated his next four foes that included wins over Sean Johnson and Daylin Murray. He tapped out Idrees Wasi in round one at Global Knockout 10. Then at EFC 73, Vanderaa defeated Elvis Moyo via TKO in the second round. He defeated UFC veteran Ruan Potts via TKO in round two at EFC 76. At EFC 77, Vanderaa defeated Ricky Mischolas via TKO in the second round. He defeated Tony Lopez via unanimous decision to pick up his first decision win as a professional.

In the opening contest of DWTNCS week eight of season four, Vanderaa defeated Harry Hunsucker via TKO in the first round. The win earned Vanderaa the seventh knockout victory of his professional career along with a contract from the UFC. With the substantial size and 10 finishes out of 11 wins, Vanderaa is out to show that facing him will be a steep climb uphill to reach the top of the summit!
