BRAVE CF 49: Muhammad Mokaev takes on fellow amateur world champion Abdul Hussein in Flyweight debut

Two former IMMAF world champions, who hold two of the best amateur records in MMA, are set to meet inside the BRAVE Combat Federation Arena, this time as professional Mixed Martial Artists. Muhammad Mokaev will take on Abdul Hussein, in a BRAVE CF 49 featured Flyweight bout.

Hussein and Mokaev share more than a fantastic record of accomplishments in amateur MMA and a label of young stars of the sport. Both men were forced to leave their homeland and grow up as refugees.

Born in the Caucasus, Mokaev emigrated to the United Kingdom and, over there, became one of the most hyped names in MMA, drawing the attention of massive mainstream media outlets, such as BBC and CNN.

Abdul Hussein, on the other hand, was born in Iraq but left the country with his family towards Finland. In Scandinavia, alongside his brother, ABBA became one of the most prominent names in Finnish MMA, won the amateur world title, and made it to the big leagues joining the BRAVE Combat Federation.

Hussein and Mokaev had been trading shots via social media over the last months, in messages that included even an informal agreement between both parties for a BRAVE CF bout to settle their differences.

Muhammad Mokaev holds a perfect professional record of 4 wins and no losses, and a combined record of 26-0, including his amateur bouts. Abdul Hussein boasts a pro record of 7 wins and one loss and a combined record of 14-1.

BRAVE CF 49 will take place on March 25, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event will be the third of four scheduled fight cards for the Kombat Kingdom, in a series that will culminate in the historical 50th BRAVE CF card. In the main event of the evening, Jose Torres and Sean Santella will meet again in a BRAVE CF Flyweight World Title Tournament quarter-final bout.
