UFC fighter pay has long been a topic of discussion. While many current and former fighters of the organization have gone toe to toe with the company brass over this issue, we have seen the rise of outside entities that have also begun to speak out in favour of a pay raise for the fighters.
In a bizarre turn of events, however, perennial lightweight contender and fan favorite Nate Diaz has taken aim not at Dana White or the UFC, but rather the worlds baddest man in Heavyweight champ Francis N’gannou who outweighs Nate by 3 weight classes.
Nate was quoted in a Yahoo sports interview as saying “what is Francis doing wrong? I’ve been doing more right than these motherf*** for years, they should’ve been spitting that I need money sh**t years ago, they should’ve been listening to daddy years ago”.
This should come as no surprise considering the Diaz brothers have long been some of the most outspoken and realest fighters of their generation often taking aim at some of the biggest names MMA has to offer. Nate has long been calling out the powers that be for what he believes his worth to be and as someone that has climbed his way into the limelight with his fighting skills I think it’s safe to say no one is safe.
Nate is scheduled to fight top contender Leon Edwards on Saturday night in Las Vegas for UFC 263. The fight will take place at welterweight which is Leon Edwards natural weight division while Nate typically fights at 155 but fluctuates back and forth from both divisions.
