Champion Lightweight Champion Jon Jones has failed a drug test prior to last weekend’s UFC 182 event and it is now reported by and is also reported that he has entered rehab. He was randomly tested on December 3rdand the results came back on December 23rd. The drug test showed positive benzoylecgonine. Benzoylecgonine is a primary metabolite of cocaine. However, it is not banned out of competition by the World Anti-Doping Agency so the NSAC could not stop Jones from fighting against Daniel Cormier, where he successfully defended his belt.

I want to apologize to my fiancée, my children, as well as my mother, father, and brothers for the mistake that I made,” Jones told Yahoo Sports. “I also want to apologize to the UFC, my coaches, my sponsors and equally important to my fans. I am taking this treatment program very seriously. Therefore, at this time my family and I would appreciate privacy.”

“I am proud of Jon Jones for making the decision to enter a drug treatment facility,” said UFC President Dana White in a statement. “I’m confident that he’ll emerge from this program like the champion he truly is.”
