Proud Evertonian and Cage Warriors flyweight prospect faces experienced Brazilian Prisclla de Souza in a fascinating clash at The Echo Arena on October 28
Liverpool flyweight Molly McCann will face the toughest test of her pro MMA career at Cage Warriors 88 when she takes on seasoned Brazilian Priscila de Souza.
Local girl McCann is sure to be backed by a raucous crowd in her home town as she looks to follow up on her crowd-pleasing decision win over Lacey Schuckman in her last contest. McCann has a record of five wins, one loss and is currently riding a four fight win streak.
She’ll gain even more momentum if she can extend that run to five by defeating de Souza, who boasts a professional record of 12 wins, 7 losses.
The Brazilian was riding a four-fight win streak of her own before a 14-month layoff throughout 2016 halted her momentum.
De Souza’s comeback performance then saw her lose out to the No.1 seed in the current season of The Ultimate Fighter, Roxanne Modafferi. But now the 28-year-old, who trains at the acclaimed Jackson-Wink gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is targeting a win to pick up where she left off prior to her layoff.
McCann joins fellow Liverpudlians Chris Fishgold and Lee Chadwick on the main card, with both men looking to leave The Echo Arena with Cage Warriors world championship gold around their respective waists.
Defending lightweight world champion Fishgold will take on Norway’s Alexander Jacobsen in the main event as he bids to win the Cage Warriors 155lb title outright with a third straight defence. And Chadwick faces dangerous Swede Victor Cheng for the vacant Cage Warriors world middleweight title in the night’s co-main event.
Sadly former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett has been forced off the card for this event after sustaining a concussion.
More bouts have been added to the undercard, however, including a lightweight bout between Adam Ventre and Mahmood Faour.
With two world title fights and a stacked card of exciting matchups, Cage Warriors 88 promises to bring another spectacular night of martial arts action to The Echo Arena on October 28.

Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan said: “This is looking to be the biggest card of the year and no city supports their own more passionately than the city of Liverpool. Molly is one of the toughest women on the planet and we’re looking forward to seeing her test herself against a truly dangerous opponent.
It’s shaping up to be another exciting night, showcasing the very best of Liverpool’s fighting talent.”
