TUF alumni and former UFC title challenger, Jessica Penne, has accepted an 18-month ban from the USADA. Penne tested positive for a banned substance, an anabolic androgenic steroid of exogenous origin. The test was carried out on March 20, 2017; a month before she lost to Danielle Taylor at UFC Fight Night 108.
The cause of the positive result was Penne taking dehydroepiandrosterone, a supplement provided by her physician, however, she wasn’t granted a therapeutic use exemption. However, USADA did decrease the ban from two years down to 18 months.
