Safe MMA founding promoter Cage Warriors celebrates its 100th show this Saturday 8 December in Cardiff at the Ice Arena.

As Safe MMA today announces the medical preclearance of Saturday’s professional fight card, Cage Warriors can look back with pride at 48 events since it first partnered with the medical organisation for Cage Warriors 52 on 9 March 2013.

Cage Warriors President and Owner Graham Boylan and matchmaker Ian Dean were significant parties in the cross – promotional formation of Safe MMA over 2011 – 12, alongside Cage Warriors veteran Rosi Sexton and other industry stakeholders. They were already able to bring an invaluable, decade’s worth of expertise to the table as originators of UK MMA, complimenting the consultancy offered by volunteer sports medical professionals.

The unified standard, medical preclearance and record keeping system has since been adopted by significant, national and international promoters in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Safe MMA today provides a globally recognised standard and is a partner of unified world MMA governing body, IMMAF – WMMAA.

Safe MMA founder and trustee, Marc Goddard, commented:

“It’s of no surprise to me that Cage Warriors, one of the promotions involved at the inception of the initiative, still remains to this day a strong and supportive advocate of the very premise of why we set up Safe MMA. It is heart-warming, and I personally give my gratitude and respect to the organisation whom, on an entirely voluntary basis, continue to adopt safety measures and protocols above and beyond any legal or licensing requirements. Here’s to the next 100 shows!”
