Dawn of the Dragon featuring UFC fighter Jonathan Martinez

Head coach Marc Montoya has turned Factory X into a gym that takes innovation to a whole new peak. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a deadly dragon ready to soar into the stratosphere at UFC On ESPN Plus 13 on July 13 at The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento California. A professional since February 2014 and representing Factory X, Jonathan Martinez owns a 10-2 record in 12 career bouts as a professional comprised of five knockouts, three decisions and two submissions. Prior to making his debut appearance with the UFC in 2018, Martinez competed with various promotions including Combate Americas. He has finished seven of his 10 wins.

In his MMA debut at C3 Fights Border Wars 2014, he knocked out Archie Lowe in the second round. Martinez also defeated his next two foes in Micah Stockton and Marshon Ball. Then, he defeated Adrian Hudson via TKO in the fifth round at XFL Rage on the River 4. Martinez also defeated Xavier Siler via TKO in the second round. He defeated Carlos Vergara via split decision at Fury Fighting 3. At GCS 3 Hub City Havoc Martinez defeated Ryan Hollis via unanimous decision. He submitted Jessie Cruz in the first round via armbar at Combate Americas Road to the Championship 3. Martinez also tapped out Randy Hinds via armbar in round one at Fist Fight League Fight Night 2 to earn his second submission win as a professional.

In his second appearance with the UFC at UFC 234, he faced China’s Wulji Buren and defeated him via unanimous decision to secure his first victory under the UFC banner. Martinez also earned the third decision win of his professional career in the process. At UFC On ESPN Plus 13 on July 13, he will look to make it back to back UFC wins when he faces Pingyan Liu in a bantamweight clash that you can catch live on ESPN. Good luck Jonathan!
