The fight game is often a series of harsh lessons for up swingers trying to cut their teeth with some having to transition to going into hostile territory to get a victory. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a hard-charging knight looking to slay the Welsh dragon at Cage Warriors 108 on October 12 at the Viola Arena in Cardiff that will air live on UFC Fight Pass. A professional since September 2017 and representing SBG Manchester under Matt Inman, Steven Hooper owns a 4-3 record in seven career bouts as a professional comprised of three submissions and one decision. Hooper has gone on to earn a finish in 75 per cent of his professional wins and has competed with various promotions in Europe including Full Contact Contender, Cage Warriors Almighty FC and Shinobi.

In his MMA debut at Almighty Fighting Championship 6, he submitted Patryk Krzak in the first round via rear-naked choke. Hooper also tapped out Anthony O’ Connor at Shinobi War 11 via triangle choke in the second round. Then in his only appearance with Full Contact Contender at FCC 21, he faced Cage Warriors veteran Ellis Hampson and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision to pick up his sole decision win as a professional thus far.

In his second outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 105 in the promotion’s second trip to the Charter Hall in Colchester, Hooper faced fellow submission specialist Craig Edwards and managed to tap him out in the second round via triangle choke to earn his first win under the Cage Warriors banner. The victory also earned Hooper the third submission win of his professional career. At Cage Warriors 108 on October 12, he will face rising Welsh star Oban Elliott in a lightweight showdown. Good luck Steven!
