Jorge Masvidal has just come off the back of 3 straight wins after knocking out the likes of Darren Till and Ben Askren and a doctor stoppage victory over Nate Diaz. There have been two main fights that could be next for Jorge the first one being the winner of the UFC Welterweight Title fight between the champion Kamaru Usman and Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington at UFC 245 on 15th December at the T-Mobile Arena. The other fight is with Nate Diaz‘s older brother Nick Diaz who could make a comeback in 2020 after 4 years out of action to avenge his younger brothers loss.
Jorge has been working his way through the rankings for a while now after victories over the like of Ben Askren, Nate Diaz and Darren Till he seems like he has done enough for a title shot. If Usman were to defeat Covington at UFC 245 Jorge should face him next as likewise if Covington is to win. If Jorge is to fight one of these 2 it would be a very interesting fight as all 3 are very good strikers. If the fight between either Colby or Kamaru against Jorge stayed on the ground it could be a very evenly matched fight, although if the fight went to the mat it could cause Jorge some problems as both Usman and Covington are experienced wrestlers.
On the other hand, Jorge Masvidal vs Nick Diaz would attract many eyes from the MMA community as it would be Nick ‘avenging’ his younger brother’s loss against Jorge. if this fight was to stay on the fight Jorge could have an edge in the striking aspect of the fight as he seems a better striker than Nick but if it went to the ground it could prove to be a very similar match-up.
