Across the Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Matthew Bonner

In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, showing no fear and stepping out of your own skin is just part of the game if you wish to grow and learn as a professional fighter. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a destroyer of demons ready to let his inner beast loose after a change in professional scenery to one of the leading gyms in all of European MMA. A professional since May 2017 and representing Next Generation Liverpool under head coach Paul Rimmer, Matthew Bonner owns a 6-5-1 record in 11 career bouts as a professional comprised of three decisions, two submissions one knockout and a draw. Bonner has competed with various promotions in euro MMA including Full  Contact Contender and Cage Warriors in addition to Budo FC and Cage Warriors Academy Northeast.

In the headliner of Cage Warriors Academy Northwest 2, he faced James Sheehan and defeated him via unanimous decision. Bonner submitted Lukasz Pilch via rear-naked choke in the third round at Full Contender 19. Then in his debut outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 90, he faced Mick Stanton and went on to tap him out via rear-naked choke. Bonner also defeated Graham Armstrong via unanimous decision in the main event of Budo Fighting Championships 30. For his second appearance with Full Contact Contender at FCC 24 he faced Shawn Lomas and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision.

In his next outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 111 in London, Bonner defeated Warren Kee via TKO in the first round to pick up the first knockout victory of his professional career. He also picked up his second win under the banner of Cage Warriors in the process. Fighters best be on their guard because there is a savage beast lying in wait!
