A professional since July 2016 and representing Joe Stevenson’s Cobra Kai and Team Quest, Jamal Pogues owns a 7-2 record in nine professional bouts comprised of four knockouts, two decisions and one submission. Pogues appeared on week nine during season three of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2019 and have gone on to finish five of his seven professional victories. He has competed with various promotions including Bellator MMA and has fought for numerous regional organizations in his home state of California.
At Gladiator Challenge Absolute Beatdown, Pogues faced Justin Trexler and submitted him in the first round. He also defeated Dante Harrell via TKO in round one at Gladiator Challenge Summer Feud. Pogues defeated his next two opponents in Kyle Noblitt and Philip Tobin. Then at California Cage Wars 9, he defeated Tommy Burks via TKO in the first round. Pogues also defeated Kacey Joe Sanders via TKO in round one at California Cage Wars 11 to earn his fourth knockout win as a professional. He defeated Brazil’s Marcos Brigagao at DWTNCS 9 via unanimous decision to pick up the second decision victory of his professional career.
In the headliner of LFA 82 on February 21, Pogues will take on the fellow knockout artist and undefeated prospect Alex Polizzi for the LFA light heavyweight title. Good luck Jamal!
