BRAVE CF 38: Talking points of the most stacked European Invasion card

BRAVE Combat Federation landed in Stockholm, Sweden, for the second straight week, featuring the biggest fight card of its European Invasion. In the main event, Abdoul Abdouraguimov took on Carl Booth and earned himself the first-ever submission win under the BRAVE CF banner.

Check out the biggest talking points of BRAVE CF 38:

– A historic trilogy looms

Abdoul Abdouraguimov and Jarrah Al-Selawe were the protagonists of one of the greatest rivalries in MMA in 2019. They had two fights, with one win apiece, but Jarrah had the last laugh when he knocked out Abdoul at BRAVE CF 27 after they were involved in a brawl during the weigh-ins for the event.

“The Conqueror” came in at BRAVE CF 38 ready to reclaim his spot as one of the best Welterweights in the world and eventually look for a third fight with his arch-rival. Against Booth, Abdouraguimov showcased his usual wrestling prowess but added viciousness to his ground and pound, and quickly disposed of his opponent.
After the bout, Abdoul was non-committal about the trilogy, but the third fight with Jarrah seems inevitable as fans have been calling out for the two best Welterweights at BRAVE CF to resolve their differences once again.

– Remember the names: Benoit St. Denis and Bernardo Sopai
Two of Europe’s brightest prospects shone at BRAVE CF 38, as both Benoit St. Denis and Bernardo Sopai made serious statements in their divisions.

“The God of War” earned the first TKO of his short MMA career against debutant and veteran Mario Saeed, improving to 6-0-0, 1 NC in the process. It was a statement of intent from the Super Lightweight contender, who has claimed he’s able to fight at Welterweight and Lightweight as well.
Young Bernardo Sopai, on the other hand, dominated Tariq Ismail, outpointing “The Desert Storm” en route to a unanimous decision victory. In his first outing with the fastest-growing MMA organization in the world, “The Lion King” showed no signs of being affected by the pressure and put on a clinical performance that has him skyrocketing through the Bantamweight list.

– Swedish talent in full display
The amount of talent in Sweden has been highlighted once again at BRAVE CF 38, with some of the brightest young men and women shining in the preliminary bouts. Such was the case for Elin Oberg and Jonny Touma.

Elin came in as an underdog against the more experienced Malin Hermansson, but put on a valiant effort, hurting her opponent with a head kick and brutal strikes, including a very sharp jab that seemed to break Malin’s nose. In the end, the underdog got the victory and will be pleased with her performance, improving to 3-1.
Touma, on the other hand, completely dominated a tough Moheb Azizi in the night’s second bout, showcasing his offensive wrestling, as well as a complete striking game that left his opponent with no answers. Azizi’s toughness was displayed throughout as he managed to get the fight to a decision, but Touma’s hand was deservedly raised.
