The northern effect has started to seep down into Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series with several fighting men of the north gaining MMA notoriety thanks to their appearance on the show. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a lumberjack of the cold looking to slice and dice through the ice barrier as he builds himself back up. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2014 and representing The Fitness Academy, Dustin Joynson owns a 5-0-1 record comprised of three knockouts, one submission, one decision, and a no contest. Joynson appeared on week 10 during the third season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2019 and has finished 80 percent of his victories during his time thus far as a pro-MMA fighter. He has also fought for many promotions in his home country of Canada including Battlefield Fight Leauge. Joynson has made it on to the scorecards once during his career as a professional mixed martial artist. The majority of Joynson’s wins during his pro career have come inside the distance with two first-round finishes and two round two finishes.

In his MMA debut at Prestige Fighting Championship 5, he faced Jannie Joubert and went on to defeat him via TKO in the first round. Joynson knocked out Chris Catala in round two at Hard Knocks 53. He defeated Jered Henderson via TKO in the first round. Then at Havoc Fighting Championship 12, Joynson tapped out Greyson Wells in the second round via rear-naked choke to pick up his first submission victory as a professional along with his second round two finish.

At Battlefield Fight Leauge 58, he defeated Caio Machado via unanimous decision. The victory earned Joynson the first decision win of his professional career. With an 80 percent finishing rate,  this axeman’s blade can chop all comers down to size like a tree that is about to be felled!
