Across The Pond Profile: UFC fighter Carlos Ulberg

Over the span of four show-stopping seasons, the UFC’s global footprint has grown ever larger in terms of size and scope of national talent that DWTNCS mines out. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a locomotive of the arid outback looking to steam through the UFC at light heavyweight with the power of a freight train. A professional mixed martial artist since August 2011 and representing City Kickboxing, Carlos Ulberg owns an undefeated 3-0 professional record comprised of two knockouts and one decision. Ulberg earned his contract from the UFC on week eight during the fourth season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2020. He has finished two out of his three victories with one first-round finish over the span of his career as a pro-MMA fighter thus far. Ulberg has only gone to the scorecards once during his time in the professional MMA ranks, winning via decision across the board on that occasion. He has also for Eternal MMA, a regional MMA promotion in his home nation of Australia. In his MMA debut at King of the Door Submission 2, he faced Kaota Puna and went on to defeat him via TKO in the second round. Ulberg defeated John Martin Fraser via unanimous decision at Eternal MMA 40 to earn his only decision win in the professional ranks so far. Then in the main event of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series week eight of season four, he knocked out Brazil’s Bruno Olivera in the first round. The victory earned Ulberg the second knockout win of his professional career. He also picked up a contract from the UFC in the process. With the power to brutalize and bury opponents with bulldozing fists, foes are due for an early grave under the earth if they have a judgemental lapse! Ulberg v Fraser Eternal MMA 40

Paddy Pimblett vs Davide Martinez confirmed at ‘THE TRILOGY’ on March 20th

Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett (15-3) returns to action against Italian prospect Davide Martinez (8-2) on March 20th, the final night of Cage Warriors’ latest ‘THE TRILOGY’ series. Pimblett – a former lightweight champion and one of Europe’s biggest draws outside of the UFC – is raring to get back in the cage and forge a path back to the title. He has been re-booked against Martinez after their fight was due to take place at CW113. Currently on a 6-fight win streak, Davide Martinez is one of Italy’s most exciting lightweight names and travels to London boasting multiple first-round stoppages across his 8 professional victories. So far, Pimblett remains undefeated in the capital, having picked up wins against Ashley Grimshaw, Teddy Violet and ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ contender Julian Erosa in London in 2016.   In his first return to London in over 3 years, ‘The Baddy’ is gearing up for a night to remember. “I hope he’s ready for a scrap come fight night, because I’m coming to make a statement,” said Pimblett. “I’m happy to have a new opponent to focus on, and want to thank Davide for taking the fight as he’s the only person to actually want to fight me. Everyone else talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk.” Cage Warriors 120, 121 and 122 will take place on the 18th, 19th and 20th of March. All 3 events will be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass live from London’s York Hall, the venue that hosted the first ever Cage Warriors event in July 2002.
