Stefan Struve has announced his retirement after a long stint in the UFC’s Heavyweight division.
He took to Twitter to break the news in a long statement which details the health issues he has been having. He said that the UFC actually contacted him for a fight but he declined and decided it was time to hang up his gloves.
Struve went 13-11 in his UFC career facing anyone and everyone. He faced former champions such as Junior Dos Santos, Andrei Arlovski, Minotauro Nogueira, and Alistair Overeem. He actually has a win over the Heavyweight GOAT himself Stipe Miocic.
Struve was a standout in this Heavyweight division with his 7ft tall frame and the Dutch kick-boxer will certainly be missed. He was exciting and never had a boring fight! We wish him well in whatever he decides to do next, Farewell Skyscrapper.
