Cage Warriors lightweight champion Agy “The Wolverine” Sardari (13-2) will defend his belt for the first time against Ben Lakhdhar (5-0-1) on Friday 19th March.
The contest will top the bill at Cage Warriors 121 – the second in the latest ‘THE TRILOGY’ series of events from London’s York Hall.
Cage Warriors 120, 121 and 122 will take place on Thursday 18th, Friday 19th and Saturday 20th March, and all three shows will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.
“I am delighted to announce the last remaining main event fight for ‘THE TRILOGY’, and it could not be a more exciting lightweight title match,” said Cage Warriors President, Graham Boylan.
“Agy is a top fighter with a tonne of experience and has been on an absolute tear. I was so impressed with the way he performed against Jack Grant to win the belt.
“Mehdi is still young in the sport, but you can bet he will give the champ everything he can handle on 19th March. I’m certain this fight is going to bring fireworks to York Hall, and I can’t wait to see how this plays out.”
Sardari came off the canvas to defeat Grant on the judges’ scorecards at CW119 in December. Though the Dutchman was dropped in round two, he showed the heart and skill to complete a remarkable comeback and extend his winning streak to seven fights.
Lakhdhar may have less than half of the defending champion’s pro experience, but he has looked sensational in his first six fights and proved he is ready to face Cage Warriors’ best. The French rising star has claimed each of his three CW wins by KO, and each of those finishes came inside the first round.
The confirmation of Sardari vs. Lakhdhar completes the lineup of main event bouts for ‘THE TRILOGY’.
