Across The Pond Profile: XFC MMA fighter Brett Martin

Tournaments are the ultimate test of a fighter’s mental preparedness. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to an alpha pit bull ready to maul all that stand in his path to be the leader of the pack at XFC 44 on May 28. A professional mixed martial artist since March 2016 and representing Triumph MMA, Brett Martin owns a 9-1-1 record through 10 professional bouts comprised of two knockouts, two submissions, two decisions one no contest, and two disqualifications. Martin has fought for numerous promotions throughout his journey in the professional ranks including Legacy Fighting Alliance. He has also competed for Lights Out Championship, a regional MMA promotion based in his home state of Michigan. Martin has finished four out of his nine victories in his tenure as a pro-MMA fighter thus far with three first-round finishes under his belt. Martin has gone to the scorecards twice during his pro career, winning via decision across the board both times.

In his MMA debut at KOP 48, he faced Ryan Hall and went on to defeat him via TKO in the first round. Martin submitted Derrick Weaver in the second round via Brabo choke at Knockout Promotions 51. Then at Knockout Promotions 55, he defeated Destin Allen via TKO in round one. Martin defeated Ray Lopez via unanimous decision at Knockout Promotions 58. He defeated Ryan Pokryfky via unanimous decision, Martin tapped out Josh Parisian via kimura in the first round at Lights Out Championship 2. In the main event of Lights Out Championship 3, he defeated Jessie Hernandez via unanimous decision. Martin defeated Brazil’s Renan Ferriera via disqualification in the first round at LFA 70. He defeated Daniel James via disqualification in round five in the main event of LFA 77.

At XFC 44 on May 28, Martin will face Chris Barnett in a titanic encounter at heavyweight. Good luck Brett!
