Kevin Holland has asked to step in and face Donald Cerrone next week.

After Diego Sanchez withdrew from the May 8 fight with Cerrone, the UFC is now looking for another opponent and Holland is one of the fighters ready to step up, as well as fighters like Norwegian fighter Emil Meek.

Holland has lost his last two fights to Marvin Vettori and Derek Brunson after being outclassed for 25 minutes in both fights. It was expected that Holland would take some time to work on his wrestling skills, but he wants to get back to the Octagon as soon as possible for a fight with ‘Cowboy.’

Holland wrote on Instagram:

“I’ll run my ass off I’ll sleep upstairs with my heat maxed out and a sauna suit on your a legend nothing but respect @cowboycerrone! I’ll gladly step up Probably come in around 175 but if the cowboy needs a dog to go along for the ride maybe show you a few tricks….. Call BigMouth.”

2020 was an exceptional year for Holland as he won five fights in a row and was chosen by many to be the Fighter of the Year, but this year he has fought twice and lost in both. He suffered his first unanimous loss to Derek Bronson and then a fight was announced against Marvin Vettori a few weeks later, which lost again by unanimous decision.
