Diaz vs Edwards pushed back to UFC 263

Nate Diaz vs Leon Edwards fight, pushed back as Diaz suffers from a sustained “minor” injury.

The fight was scheduled for UFC 262, with a five-round co-main event. Unfortunately, the fight may not be the first-ever five-round co-main event.

According to a report from Kevin Iole, Diaz is suffering from an “unspecified minor injury.” This injury has made UFC push back the fight to UFC 263, which is headlined by the middleweight champion Israel Adesanya as he takes on Marvin Vettori.

The chances for Diaz vs Edwards to be a five-round fight are low, as there are already two five-round fights on the card. It already includes Israel Adesanya vs Marvin Vettori and Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno.

Diaz last fought in 2019 when he lost the fight against Jorge Masvidal via doctor stoppage. On the flip side, Edwards is coming off a controversial eye poke no-contest against the number twelve rank welterweight Belal Muhammad last March. It was the first fight of Edwards since 2019.

UFC 263 will be held in Glendale, Arizona, with a full capacity crowd.
