Paulo Costa is considering a comeback bout against Marvin Vettori, whom he refers to as a “moron.”

Paulo Costa looks to have made peace with the UFC and is looking for a rematch with top-five middleweight Marvin Vettori, who called out ‘Borrachinha’ after his decision loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 263 last weekend.

“I could fight this Moron if he show to fight like that,” Costa wrote in response to Vettori on Monday.

Vettori suffered a unanimous decision loss to Adesanya in the UFC 263 main event but was shocked by the official scoring. All three judges scored the bout 50-45 in favor of Adesanya but Vettori believes he put up a much better fight than the scorecards imply, claiming that he got the better of ‘The Last Stylebender’ in some of the striking exchanges.

“I think I did a lot of good things,” Vettori told BT Sport after the fight. “I was having a lot of success with the boxing exchanges. Story of this fight was the leg kick, I guess. I went back and I talked to my coaches, I think the 50-45 was definitely not the right decision but it is what is.”

Costa and Vettori have both been defeated by Adesanya, with the former losing by TKO at UFC 253 and Vettori failing to dethrone the middleweight champion on two occasions. With both guys desperate to return to title contention, this is the fight to watch. Don’t be surprised if the UFC announces the fight within the next few months.
