Alexander Gustafsson fights Paul Craig at a UFC event on September 4th

On Sept. 4 in London, the former light heavyweight title candidate, who has knockout victories over the likes of Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira to name a few, will return to the Octagon for a 205-pound bout against blazing category powerhouse Paul Craig.

According to Front Kick, this is the case.

Gustafsson (18-7) took a break from MMA after his second straight 205-pound submission loss to Anthony Smith in June 2019. Later, “The Mauler” tried to make a comeback in the heavyweight class against Fabricio Werdum, but “Vai Cavalo” was having none of it.

The resurgent “Bearjew” (15-4-1) has won three straight and four of his past five fights, including a brutal finish over Jamahal Hill last month. The 33-year-old Scot is just outside the Top 10, but a big win over Gustafsson, who will certainly return to the UFC rankings after his MMA comeback, might help him climb the rankings.

The main fight of the Sept. 4 show is likely to feature Darren Till vs. Derek Brunson in the middleweight division.

On the other hand, Khalil Rountree goes toe-to-toe with Modestas Bukauskas, and Charles Jourdain goes toe-to-toe with Lerone Murphy.
