Across The Pond Profile: Cage Conflict fighter Mark Andrew

It can be tough and brutal sledging in the beginning stages of a fighter’s career if the rhythm and beat can not co-exist in harmony together as a complete piece. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a Belfast bear hoping to relight the roar at Cage Conflict 5 on December 4. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2015 and representing Next Generation Northern Ireland under the guiding hand of head coach Rodney Moore, Mark Andrew owns a 1-5 record through six professional bouts, with his one and only victory as a pro-MMA fighter coming via submission. Andrew has fought for various promotions from all across The United Kingdom including Clan Wars, UK Fighting Championships, BAMMA, and Akuma Fighting  Championship. He has yet to make it onto the scorecards at any point during his tenure in the professional MMA ranks thus far. The lone finish during Andrew’s tenure as a professional mixed martial artist has come within the third and final round, with a time of three minutes and 16 seconds.

In his professional MMA debut and promotional debut with BAMMA at BAMMA 22 that also marked the promotion’s first-ever show on the soil of the emerald isle, he faced Sean Tobin and went on to submit him in the third round. The victory earned Andrew the first submission win of his professional career. He also picked up win number one under the banner of BAMMA in the process along with the one and only finish of his pro career to date and his sole victory as a professional.

At Cage Conflict 5 on December 4, Andrew will square off against the debuting Ciaran Breslin in an encounter at featherweight. Other professionals that are set to appear on Cage Conflict 5 will include the undefeated Ryan Shelley along with Cage Warriors veteran and submission specialist Ciaran Mullholland. Good luck Mark!
