Women’s MMA has remained a key cornerstone in the growth of Legacy Fighting Alliance with several former female champions now reaping the rewards in the UFC. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a python of sheer stone slaying the opposition as the newest lady to take LFA’S flyweight division by storm. A professional mixed martial artist since October 2021 and representing Alliance Jiu-Jitsu San Diego, Jena Bishop owns an unbeaten 2-0 record comprised of one submission and one decision. Bishop is currently 2-0 under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance, with one finish under her belt for the promotion. She has spent her entire career as a pro-MMA fighter with Legacy Fighting Alliance thus far. Bishop has gone to the scorecards a single time over the course of her journey in the professional ranks, sweeping the scorecards across the board in that instance. The one and only finish during her pro career has come within the opening round, with a time of three minutes and 38 seconds. Bishop has earned a finish in one out of her two wins during her time as a professional mixed martial artist so far.
In her professional MMA debut and promotional debut with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 116, she faced Helen Lucero and went on to tap her out in the first round via rear-naked choke to earn her first submission victory as a professional along with win number one under the LFA banner. Then in her second outing with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 118, Bishop defeated Brazil’s Dione Barbosa via unanimous decision. The victory earned Bishop the first decision win of her professional career. She also picked up back-to-back victories under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance in the process. At 2-0, Bishop is one adder with an airtight squeeze once a submission gets locked in!
