Across The Pond Profile: Invicta Fighting Championships fighter Monica Franco

An extended layoff can offer clarity even in the darkest of times for fighters who are struggling to keep their heads above water. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a keeper of the eternal flame ready to burn bright with a vengeful light at Invicta FC 45 on January 12 in the first show of 2022 for the promotion. A professional mixed martial artist since August 2015 and representing Independent,  Monica Franco owns an unbeaten 2-0 record as a professional comprised of one knockout and one decision. Franco is currently 1-0 under the banner of Invicta Fighting Championships. She has finished one out of her two victories over the duration of her career as a pro-MMA fighter so far, with a single second-round finish under her belt. The one and only finish during Franco’s career as a professional mixed martial artist has come within the second round. She has only gone to the scorecards a single time in her career, sweeping the scorecards across the board on that occasion.

In her MMA debut at Destiny MMA Na Koa 10, she faced Jessica Doerner and went on to knock her out in round two to pick up her first knockout win as a professional. Then in her promotional debut with Invicta Fighting Championships at Invicta FC 39, Franco defeated Tina Pettigrew via unanimous decision. The win earned Franco the first decision victory of her professional career. She also picked up victory number one under the banner of Invicta Fighting Championships in the process.

For her second outing with Invicta Fighting Championships at Invicta FC 45 on January 12, 2022, she will face Legacy Fighting Alliance veteran Hailey Cowan in a battle at bantamweight. Other fighters who are scheduled to appear on Invicta FC 45 include UFC veteran Emily Whitmire, Hillarie Rose, and Courtney King. Good luck Monica!
