A fighter’s journey to the UFC can be backbreaking and rewarding once hardship is conquered. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2010 and representing The Smith Pit, Jake Collier owns a 13-6 record through 19 professional bouts comprised of five knockouts, four submissions, and four decisions. Collier fought for numerous promotions including RFA prior to debuting with the UFC at UFC Fight Night 58 in December 2014. He has finished nine out of his 13 wins over the course of his journey thus far as a pro-MMA fighter.
In his MMA debut at Rumble Time Promotions, he faced James Wade and went on to defeat him via TKO in the first round. Collier also defeated his next two opponents in Dan McGlasson and Darryl Cobb. He defeated Wade for the second time via TKO in round one at Cage Championships 37. Then at Cage Championships 38, Collier defeated Sean Huffman via TKO in the first round. He defeated Cully Butterfield via unanimous decision. Collier tapped out Quartius Sitt in round one. He submitted Gabriel Checco in the first round in the main event of RFA 19. Collier defeated Ricardo Abreu via a split decision at UFC Fight Night 68. At UFC Fight Night 88, he defeated Alberto Uda via TKO in the second round. Collier defeated Marcel Fortuna via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 120. At UFC On ESPN 19, he defeated Gian Villante via unanimous decision.
In the co-main event of UFC On ESPN 32, he submitted Chase Sherman via rear-naked choke in the first round. The victory earned Collier the fourth submission win of his professional career. With nine finishes in 13 victories, Collier is a stout and strong bull that is not for the faint of heart!
