The six strongest amateur mixed martial arts teams in the world, rated by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), and two unified teams will take part in the inaugural MMA Super Cup on March 8-12 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The official draw for the prestigious team’s tournament took place on February 7th where the first four match-ups had been announced.
The Russian MMA Union Team was confirmed to face Team Ireland, which will be headed by John Kavanagh, head coach and owner of SBG Ireland known for producing some of the best mixed martial arts athletes in the world.
The other quarterfinal pair in Russia’s subgroup is Team Ukraine vs Team Arab Champions. In the other subgroup, the host nation’s team, Team Bahrain, will face Team Tajikistan in the quarterfinals, while Team Kazakhstan goes up against Team Balkan Champions.
Following the announcement, the Russian MMA Union revealed the team line-up for the tournament.
“The team includes both winners of the World Championship held in Abu Dhabi, and the winners of the European Championship in Kazan and the Russian Championship in Kemerovo,” said RMMAU Head Coach Gennady Pavlovich Kapshay. “Today, it is objectively the best roster, taking into account the pandemic.”
The Russian MMA Union Team will be led by coaches Shamil Alibatyrov, Gasanali Gasanaliev, and Andrey Terentiev.

MMA Super Cup will take place March 8 to 12 in the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of BRAVE International Combat Week. The week will also feature BRAVE CF 57 where 3 BRAVE CF World Championship Titles will be on the line.
