I’d like to start this off by thanking you for taking the time to speak to me today Christian, I hope your training camp at Jackson wink MMA has been going well in the build-up to your anticipated return to the cage?
“I’m great and I’ve had a great camp man!”
The last time we had the pleasure of witnessing you in action was back in October 2021. Taking on Ben Parrish at Bellator266, despite a valiant effort on the night in California, you left the cage with the 1st professional loss of your career. Now the proverbial dust has settled and you have had the time to reflect, what did you take from that war in the cage?
“I took a lot from the Ben Parrish fight, but the thing that was most important that I took from that fight was that you can never overlook anyone in this sport. Because everyone that competes at this level is completely capable of landing a lucky haymaker.”
Next week you are set to take the walk to the Bellator Cage, taking on Team Anubis MMA’s Kevin Haley at Bellator274. With this only being your Opponent’s second outing to the place you have called home for the past 3 years of your professional career, witnessing Kevin in action has been few and far between. In regards to your opponent, have you done anything in the way of research leading up your bout in Connecticut?
“I have studied Kevin and I’m more than ready for everything he brings to this fight and I will win this fight.”
As previously stated, Bellator has been the home of your career for the past 3 years. It is one of the most highly decorated organisation’s in Mixed martial arts and has one of the exceptional rosters within the sport. Out of your astronomical victorys here, which one of these wars stands out for you?
“Honestly I think the fight that sticks out the most to me in my career, other than my last fight, is my fight with Simon Biyong because I believe he was the most skilled opponent I ever faced.”
Many great face off’s have also occurred over the course of the many shows Scott Coker has brought to the fans over the years. Is there a fighter within the organisation that is that dream fight for you one day in the not so distant future?
“Honestly, my dream fight is Vadim Nemkov because he’s the champ right now.”
Neiman Gracie vs Logan Storey, Davion Franklin vs Said Sowma. just a sample of what’s to come on one of Bellator MMA’s biggest cards to date. Other than your inclusion February 19th are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?
“I’m looking forward to seeing my boy Davion take care of business for sure.”
Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to shout out to?
“My message to the fans is to expect to see violence in this fight.”
