Ayoub “The Tunisian Nightmare” Dahech 4-3-0 is a Tunisian amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Bantamweight Division. An amateur competitor since 2017. He has competed for Budo Fighting Championship, FCC, Victory Fights, WCFC, Contenders and Almighty Fighting Championship.
I’d like to start this off by thanking you for taking the time to speak to me today Ayuby, and also to congratulate you on your recent victory at Almighty Fighting Championship 23.
It’s been almost a week since the fans got to witness you and your fellow competitors go to war in Barnsley on the 23rd card brought to you by Ray Thompson and his team at Almighty Fighting Championship in Barnsley’s Metrodome sports centre.
Your inclusion, amongst many others, stood out most for me. This being your first outing for AFC, you made an impression multiple times during your war with Gracie Barra Derby’s George Young. What stood out for me was that devastating Lead kick, the damage was instantly visible on George. Now the dust has settled and you’ve had time to reflect on your bout, what did you take from that phenomenal performance?
“After having time to watch my performance, it just goes to show that hard work really does pay off. There is a fine line between cocky and confident, but I’m very confident in myself and it’s great watching myself grow as a fighter. Over the years I’ve upped my game and I will continue to push myself as much as physically possible.”
Amongst your Hamma cornermen was veteran of the cage, Azi Thomas. One of many Phenomenal athletes preparing you for your inclusion on the night. A dedicated trainer and role model for up and coming amateurs such as yourself, what did it mean to you to have as much wisdom in your corner for your 7th amateur fight to date?
“Having such a great circle of people does make a difference. The positivity and support from Azi and the team, really does give me that little bit more confidence to know anything is possible. Knowing I have a team of great sportsmen around me, who consistently believe in me, really is the best support network one could wish for. It’s all about surrounding yourself with positive energy.”
Azi Thomas: “Ayoub fought aggressively and calculated. I’ve been impressed with his progress in the last 12 months, as he’s settled into regular training with plenty of hours put in on the mat working on his all run game. His wrestling has improved the most in those 12 months, I’m looking forward to his next 12. as he will more than likely be looking at the pro circuit.”
Your W will be making many fans wonder when they will next have the pleasure of witnessing you in action. Do you intend on Fighting as much as possible this year?
“I’ll definitely be keeping at it with the sport and training as much as I physically can. It’s all about finding a work-life balance but MMA is my number one priority besides work. And I look forward to many more fights, every fight is a learning curve and I take away more knowledge and strategies each time.”
Other than your inclusion, were there any match-ups in particular that you enjoyed getting the chance to witness?
“I didn’t have much time to watch all the competitors, but of the few, I did see I have nothing but respect for them. MMA is mentally and physically challenging, it takes a lot of work to stay composed. I commend everyone who participated at the Metrodome.”
Last but not least do you have a message for your ever-growing fan base and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?
“I’d like to thank every individual that has supported me, this is only the binging. Thanks to the team and close people to me for being the best support network and thank you to everyone who purchased tickets for the events and live streams online. Their support never goes unnoticed and I will be forever grateful.”
