It’s been a busy week for the newly founded Eagle FC, the promotion which is run by promoter Khabib Nurmagomedov is gearing up for its much anticipated March 11th card in Miami which headlines the debuts of Diego Sanchez vs Kevin Lee.

But in a string of recent signings and announcements, the promotion has announced that Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos has signed with the organization and will face UFC veteran Yorgan De Castro on May 20th. Another big move comes in the way of signing former Bellator champion and former UFC fighter Hector Lombard who will also face one-time contender and much-maligned fighter Thiago Silva in the co-main event.

JDS has been on a 2-year hiatus since going on a 4 fight losing streak (Gane, Rozenstruik, Blaydes, N’ganou), his last win came in 2019 when he TKO’d Derrick Lewis, the former champ has taken time off to work on his body and mind and is looking to reinvent himself. As for his opponent Yorgan, he ended his UFC tenure with a 1-3 record but is currently on a 2 fight win streak and fought for Eagle Fc in January scoring a 1st round guillotine win.

As for the Co-main event, we last saw Hector Lombard in the BKFC arena where he went 3-1 while picking up wins over Joe Riggs and Kendall Grove. The Cuban fighter has not competed in MMA since 2018 when he, unfortunately, finished with a 0-6-1 record, pushing his overall record to 34-10-1. His opponent Thiago Silva was once a rising star and a promising contender, a plethora of bad decisions cost him his UFC and career as a whole, Thiago has not fought since 2019 and is on a 2 fight losing streak with his last win coming in 2018.
