Elite MMA Championship (EMC) are back and looking to kick off their 2022 schedule with a bang!
Düsseldorf, Germany will play host to EMC 9 on Saturday 16th April, with a plethora of European talent slated for action. Kerim Engizek will compete for the inaugural EMC middleweight title in his first promotional outing while Erko Jun and Deniz Ilbay are also confirmed for the card. Their opponents will be announced in due course.
Engizek (16-4) is currently riding a 9-fight winning streak and hasn’t been defeated since 2014. The 30-year-old is a dangerous finisher, having stopped 13 of his opponents in 16 victories. He will be looking to make an immediate impact in his EMC debut by capturing gold and establishing himself as one of the very best at 185lbs across the continent.
Jun (4-2) dropped down to the light heavyweight division for the first time at EMC 8 back in December and stopped Gianluca Locicero in 39 seconds. That continued his 100% knockout finishing rate and proved once again that the KSW veteran is must-watch whenever he steps inside the cage. Jun has a massive social media following and holds victories over Akop Szostak and Popek Monster.
Ilbay (1-0) is a five-time boxing world champion and has held titles with the IBF, WBO and IBO. He also owns multiple national championships in Thai boxing, demonstrating his high-level skill on the feet. The UFD Gym product was successful in his MMA debut at EMC 8, where he defeated Adnan Zilic due to strikes in less than two minutes.
More fighters scheduled to compete at EMC 9 will be announced over the coming days.
