UFC Middleweights Julian Marquez and Gregory Rodrigues matchup at the June 18th UFC Fight Night, per MMA Junkie.

Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Julian “The Cuban Missile Crisis” Marquez earned his UFC contract following a devastating head kick knockout of Phil Hawes on Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2017. A second-round submission of Darren Stewart at UFC on Fox 26 earned Marquez a winning debut performance for the promotion, who currently holds a 3-1 UFC record. Holding a 9-2 professional record, the 31-year-old has won all nine professional victories via stoppage (6 KO/TKO, 3 submission), whilst never losing via stoppage (1 x unanimous decision, 1 x split decision). Marquez enters the bout June 18th holding a two fight win-streak, following stoppage victories over Maki Pitolo and Sam Alvey.

Both a multiple National jiu-jitsu champion, and World jiu-jitsu champion, Gregory “Robocop” Rodrigues holds an 11-4 professional record that includes nine finishes (5 KO/TKO, 4 submission). With victories over Duško Todorović, and Jun Yong Park, the Brazilian holds a 2-1 promotional record, having lost a tightly contested bout with Armen Petrosyan via split decision in his last appearance, at UFC Fight Night 202. A former Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight Champion, the 30-year-old enters the matchup as a replacement for Marquez’s original opponent Wellington Turman, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons.
