I’d like to start this off by thanking you for taking the time to speak to me today Jay, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming return to the cage at Road to Contenders 5.

It has been 5 years since fans got to witness you in action. How does it feel to shake off the proverbial ‘ring-rust’ and compete once again when taking on Gary Moll?

“To be honest, I’m buzzing to be entering the cage again, I feel stronger and more technical than I did before and looking forward to putting on an amazing show for everyone. Going to attempt to finish this fight before the rounds finish.”

You’ve teamed up with Alan Mackenzie and his team at Assassins Fight & Fitness Team in the build-up to your return to the cage. A long-standing distributor of amazing talent to enter the Norwich based organisation, how has training been going?

“Training has been going amazing with doing the usual Assassins boxing and fitness to one to one training, you can never train too much for a fight.”

As previously stated, the warriors of Assassins have had a huge part to play in many Phenomenal events in Norwich as well as the past two years branding over two very successful shows in London. What does it mean to you to be working with such a well-oiled machine of fighters?

“I’ve known Alan Mckenzie, owner of Assassins fight team for over 13 years. Always trained with them and loyal to them, Alan is an amazing coach and mentor, to have him in my corner is a privilege.”

Alan Mackenzie: “Jay is always focused on fight camp, puts everything into his training, listens well and practices every fight combo over, again and again.

Jay is also an assistant instructor. A fantastic team member who helps me teach alongside my son and wife.

He is a brown belt kickboxer with devastating punches and kick power. Also a good ground fighter and grappler.

Over the years he has grown as a person and as a martial artist. Overcoming obstacles and difficulties in his life through his training and dedication to the sport towards a healthy lifestyle with Assassins Gym. He’s a true friend and an Assassin warrior.”

Working close with Contenders has given you first-hand experience of what’s to come to Epic Studios on May 14th. Other than your inclusion on the night are there any matchups in particular that you’re looking forward to witnessing?

“I have not really looked at the fight card yet, but knowing contenders and Road to Contenders, I have no doubt every fight will be amazing!”

I wish you all the best for May 14th Jay and look forward to witnessing your return.

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“I’d like to shout-out to everyone who has got tickets to support me, and everyone at Assassins gym. Alan, Carla, Joe and all the students there!”
