Diego Sanchez vs Dan Hardy boxing on Ricky Hatton’s undercard

The return of the Outlaw to competition is finally here as Dan Hardy will face the Nightmare in a boxing match on July 2nd. On this card, we will see Ricky Hatton vs Marco Antonio Barrera and Casey Walsh vs Don Strapzy.

The outlaw has been out of competition since 2012 after suffering a rare heart issue that forced his retirement from MMA. Dan would go on to become one of the best MMA commentators and analysts and has a great social media presence with his breakdowns and overall knowledge of the sport. He had been rumored several times in a comeback to MMA or even a boxing match against rival Tyron Woodley, but neither materialized. Dan has always been known to have heavy hands as proof of his 12 KOs, so to see him be able to focus on that martial art is truly exciting for those of us who have followed him for so long.

His opponent Diego Sanchez has one of the lengthiest resumes in all of MMA, the former TUF 1 winner has seen just about every peak and valley a fighter with 44 fights can have. He was most recently defeated by Kevin Lee in his first post UFC fight since 2004. Just like Dan, Diego has never had a professional sanctioned boxing fight, so it will be interesting to see how these two decide to lock horns. It will either be a strategic chess match, or an all out brawl like Diego likes.
