How to watch The Four Nations Mixed Martial Arts Tournament

The inaugural Four Nations mixed martial arts competition will see England, Scotland, Irelandand Wales compete in a knock-out tournament in Liverpool from the 1st-3rd of July.

Hosted by the English Mixed Martial Arts Association, the Four Nations has attracted some of the best prospects in amateur mixed martial arts in the UK and Ireland, all looking to medal in their respective weight divisions. The tournament will take place over 3 days, with over 65 athletes competing from Strawweight to Heavyweight.

Marc Goddard, EMMAA President explained: “It’s a good old-fashioned Four Nations between England, Ireland Scotland and Wales. The youngsters taking part are the stars of tomorrow.”

England and Ireland took part in the IMMAF World Championships in January of this year. Ireland won 4 medals. England didn’t get a podium spot, but had some world-class talents including Four Nations competitor Teddy Stringer. Scotland will be competing for the first time as a national team in an MMA tournament. Paul Reed, EMMAA Vice President and Head of Performance, said: “This is ground-breaking.

Paul Reed, EMMAA Vice President and Head of Performance, said: “This is ground-breaking. There hasn’t been an amateur championship for British MMA before. It’s an opportunity for athletes to represent their countries, get a lot of experience, build their records and go away with a gold medal as a British champion. How good is that?”

The action will commence on Friday the 1st of July heading into Saturday for the semi-finals with finals and bronze medal bouts being held on Sunday, with sponsors and a number of special guests inc our very own Dan Hardy handing out the medals

Dan Hardy, ex-UFC athlete and EMMAA Board member commented: “It’s three days of fighting, all Four Nations involved, either four or eight-person tournaments depending on the weight class. We’ve got first, second and third place podiums. We’ve got £500 for the stand-out athlete of the weekend, and EMMAA has partnered with RDX for the entire tournament fightwear so there’s loads of good kit going around. It’s going to be a live-stream pay-per-view and there’s a sky documentary team coming. It’s going to be great.”

The Four Nations is set to be a historic event for British and Irish MMA. It will showcase some of the best mixed martial artists in the participating countries and crown the best athletes in their respective weight divisions.
