Almighty Fighting Championship is back on Saturday 20th august with their 28th event, which has plenty of fights to entertain but most importantly it contains two title fights between some of the best up-and-coming fighters Europe has to offer. Also, you will see some of the best Professionals in the country go head-to-head to climb the rankings and get their name in the hat for a title shot.

This Fight is for the Almighty FC Amateur Flyweight title as two of the best Amateur flyweights in the country go head-to-head to declare themselves as a champion. Shawon Choudhury, who is currently ranked #9 in the UK and is currently riding a three-fight win streak, is somewhat of a submission specialist as 71.4% of his wins have come by the way of submission and I don’t see that changing in this fight. He stated that “I bring a mentality that others lack. You can see in all my fights there is not even an ounce of quit in me and I will fight to the end regardless of the situation. I’m super excited for this fight, the UK finally gets to find out who’s the definitive number 1 In the division. I just can’t wait.” However, his opponent who is currently ranked #3 in the UK, Joe Fields, is looking to carry on the momentum by bringing home another title back like his training partner and current Cage Warriors Lightweight champion George Hardwick. Fields is also riding a three-fight win streak and has shown how well-rounded he is with 40% of his wins being submissions, and 40% being KO/TKOs, with the last 20% being by the way of the judge’s score cards so he has the perfect skill set to match up with Choudhury. He commented “It is going to be another flawless performance. I’m excited to finally be able to prove myself against another top guy and show that these guys don’t belong in there with me.”

The final title bout of the card is for the Almighty FC amateur Bantamweight title as two talented amateurs battle it out for the right to be crowned champion of the division. Jack Humphries, who represented team England in EMMA four nations event, is currently undefeated after getting the judge’s nod on both of his wins. Humphries is a well-rounded fighter with good striking and equally as good grappling however he will be looking to prove how well-rounded he is when he fights. He stated “Last two fights have been decisions, this time he is going to sleep or getting KO’d. I’m a true mixed martial artist and can go wherever the fight goes, the rippers on the scene and I’m here to take everything and everyone out.” His opponent Adam Butterworth, who is currently ranked #22 in the UK and is currently riding a two-fight win streak, appears to be the more experienced fighter with having 14 amateur fights winning 8 of those fights with 62.5% of his wins being by way of submission. He stated “I’m feeling very confident for the fight, I feel I’ll be in the best shape of my life ready to go 5 rounds if needed. I’m going to be more attacking than my last fight and looking to finish.”

The Featured Professional Fight is a Welterweight matchup between two Cage Warriors Alumni, who both had great success in their amateur days at H.A.M.M.A academy of martial arts. Beau Gavin is looking to get his professional career on the winning path as he got caught in his debut, however, he had great success in his amateur career as he ended with a 4-3 record with appearances on big shows like Cage Warriors and BAMMA before turning professional. The loss in his debut hasn’t deterred Gavin from achieving his goal but adds fuel to his fire as he is looking to make a statement in this fight, saying “I’m coming to bring violence.” His opponent Chris Sterling is looking to get back to winning ways as he lost his last fight making his record 1-1-0. Sterling is pretty much a Cage warriors veteran as an amateur, as 6 out of his 10 fights took place under the Cage Warriors banner fighting some of the top talents in the UK. He will be looking to use that knowledge learned in his amateur career and put it into action in this fight. He stated “On fight night it will be just over a year since my last fight and I’m looking forward to showing the world the new and improved Chris Sterling. Don’t miss it.”

The Featured Amateur fight takes place in the Featherweight division between two of the North East’s powerhouse gyms. Middlesborough Fight Academy’s protégé, Rhys Muhammad, lives and breathes MMA as he was born into MMA because his Father was a pioneer of English MMA by using his wrestling-heavy style to dominate the scene. Muhammad is a highly touted talent as he has incredible grappling skills and under the tutelage of the Hardwick brothers, he will have crisp striking technique, looking to put on an exciting fight to showcase how talented he is. His opponent Kyle Walton trains out of UFC fighter Davey Grants SBG Bishop Auckland which houses some of the most promising fighters within the Northeast of England, with Head coach Davey Grant passing on his wealth of knowledge to help elevate each one of his fighters. Walton will also be extremely well-rounded as SBG prides itself on making sure a fighter will be and can also fight a good fight wherever the fight goes. He commented “I’m Feeling very confident going into this fight, training is going really well, and everyone is pushing me to my limit. I’m excited to go in there and test my skills against an experienced guy.” This bout has the potential to be the fight of the night as both athletes will be looking to get a perfect start to their amateur careers.
