Every time that Cage Warriors takes root in a new European region, bell-to-bell action and excitement are always on the first tier. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a tri-coloured panzer ready to deal a thunderous shock to the opposition in the main event of Cage Warriors 144 on October 7 in the promotion’s maiden voyage to the land of the boot in Italian MMA’S coming out party. A professional mixed martial artist since January 2017 and representing Aurora MMA, Michele Martignoni holds a 7-1-2 record through eight contests comprised of three submissions, two knockouts, two decisions, and two no contests. Martignoni fought for various promotions in his home nation of Italy prior to debuting with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 117 in December 2020 as part of the promotion’s second trilogy instalment. He has finished five out of his seven victories during his time in the professional ranks. Martignoni has gone to the scorecards twice over the course of his pro career, sweeping them clean across the board both times.
In his MMA debut at Storm FC, he submitted Adrian Icanu in the first round via rear-naked choke. Martignoni also tapped out Alessio Ibba via rear-naked choke in round one at Storm 10. Then at Colosseum 6, he submitted Mirco Marogna in round one. Martignoni knocked out Simone D’ Anna in the first round in his lone appearance with Bellator MMA at Bellator 203. He knocked out Nicolai Turcan in the first round in the main event of Storm FC 12. Martignoni defeated Wesley Maia via unanimous decision in his promotional debut with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 117. He defeated Scott Malone via unanimous decision on the preliminary card of Cage Warriors 140 to earn the second decision victory of his professional career.
In the headliner of Cage Warriors 144 on October 7, he will face Dominique Wooding for the bantamweight title. Good luck Michele!
