Sinéadh ‘The Grenade’ Ní Nualláin 1-5-0 is an Irish amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Bantamweight division, representing SBG Ireland. She has competed for IMMAF, Clan Wars, Innferno FC, The Four Nations Championships and is set to make her debut for Goliath Fight Series on November 6th.
I’d like to start things off by thanking you for taking the time to speak with me again today Sinéadh, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming Flyweight title opportunity at Goliath Fight Series 2.
“Thank you very much for having me.”
No problem at all, anytime.
From what I’ve seen, training has been going exceptionally well in the build-up to your return to the cage.
“Yeah, everything’s been going A1 to be honest. No injuries, nothing major so I can’t complain, just improving as we go along.”
As well as training towards your own goals in the cage, you are also a personal trainer. Your dedication to the sport is highly admirable, to help others achieve their own goals must be a satisfying experience?
“Yeah it is, oh I absolutely love it, I wouldn’t want any other job to be honest. Like you said, it’s the satisfaction of getting other people to reach their goals as well as my own you know.”
Yeah, it must be highly addictive.
“Yeah very, too much sometimes that’s why I work all the time haha.”
Nice to keep busy though I suppose.
“Oh yeah, I’d rather be busy than sitting on my ass you know what I mean.”
I completely agree, no point in lying dormant.
“Definitely, it’s better like that one hundred percent.”
It has been an extremely busy year for yourself within the cage, from your bout in Austria at Innferno FC 5, to your inclusion in the EMMAA Four Nations Championships. It must have been an amazing experience for you to represent your country on what was one of the biggest events in UK MMA?
“One hundred percent, it was probably one of the best events I’ve ever been to, it was really well run. I’ve been to many IMMAF events so anything that is related to IMMAF I’d say is run very very well, the level is very high.”
Definitely, your team stole the show.
We ran a muck we did hahaha.”
Your dedication to the brutal yet exhilarating world of Mixed Martial Arts has been rewarded by having the opportunity to become Queen of your division at Goliath Fight Series 2 taking on Caroline Plumley. After an explosive 1st card back in August, by popular demand we are in store for yet another barn-burner of a card. What does it mean to you to get the opportunity to compete for Goliath Fight Series as well as the Flyweight Championship?
“It’s my first MMA title, baring the IMMAF‘s, it’s my first chance at a belt in MMA. I’ve already fought Caroline at the EMMAA Four Nations and like you said, we know each other well but the second fight is never the same as the first, it’s just more of a challenge for me.”
I watched it back recently, that was a tremendous victory I have to say.
“Yeah it was good, she was strong. she’s experienced so I have a feeling she’s gonna be one hundred times better than she was in our first fight.
I completely agree, with the space in between bouts you’ve both had time to up your levels out there.
“One hundred percent.”
The bouts are starting to fly out for what’s set to be an exertional 2nd outing for Goliath Fight Series on November 6th. Other than your inclusion on the night are there any of the confirmed bouts so far that you’re looking forward to witnessing?
“Definitely the Strawweight bout that has recently been announced, Hayleigh Heather vs Chloe Cook. I fought Chloe’s teammate Shanelle Dyer at the Four Nations, I’m looking forward to that one.”
Agreed, it’s definitely not one to be missed. I spoke with Heather in the build-up to her Strawweight title opportunity back in May at UKFC 19, a great competitor.
“Yeah, fighting Nadine Abbott-Bissett, one of our girls. It was a good fight, she was unlucky.”
Nadine is phenomenal also, just gone Pro too I believe?
“Yeah, she’s just gone Pro with Combate Global.”
Fantastic organisation, really gives the ladies of MMA the spotlight they deserve.
“And it’s a great way to the UFC.”
It has been an absolute pleasure speaking with you again Sinéadh, and I wish you all the best for Goliath Fight Series 2 and beyond.
“Thank you very much for having me. I appreciate it, thank you.”
My pleasure Sinéadh.
Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?
“Yeah of course, my family and all my sponsors. My nutritionist, my strength and conditioning coach and all my sponsors that have supported me throughout my fight career. It’s gonna be a great night, so get your tickets guys!”
Goliath took a giant leap on their first card back in August, so much so that by popular demand, their second step on the regional circuit is back with a bang on November 6th.
You are not gonna want to miss this one guys so as Sinéadh said, grab your tickets from the fighters and the Goliath team here as soon as they become available.
