All fighters have successfully made weight ahead of OKTAGON 36 which takes place tomorrow evening, Saturday 15th October, at the iconic Festhalle Frankfurt in Germany. The blockbuster event is one of the biggest to be held in Europe this year and marks the second time OKTAGON MMA have sold out the venue in as many outings since expanding into the market.
In the main event, German MMA superstar, Christian Eckerlin (14-5, 1NC), faces rival Denilson Neves de Oliveira (16-8, 1NC) in a 82kg/181lbs catchweight bout after their controversial first meeting ended in a no contest earlier this year. UFC veteran, Jeremy Kimball (18-9), collides with intimidating powerhouse, Hatef Moeil (12-4), at heavyweight in the co-headliner which could have major title implications.
Stephan Puetz (21-5) looks to cement a light heavyweight title shot when he takes on Karlos Vémola’s training partner, Miloš Petrášek (12-6), and in a clash between top welterweight contenders, Bojan Veličković (21-11-2) squares off with Leandro ‘Apollo’ Silva (25-10-1, 1NC).
Elsewhere on the stacked card, Máté Kertész (12-5, 1NC) rematches fan-favourite, Christian Jungwirth (12-5), at 170lbs after the former won a razor-close split decision in 2021. The UK’s John Hathaway (17-2) makes his highly anticipated return to MMA following a series of major health issues when he meets former TUF Brazil competitor, André ‘Dedé’ Ricardo (11-5-2), in a welterweight contest.
OKTAGON 36 will be broadcast live around the world on OKTAGON.TV and kicks off at 5pm BST/6pm CEST.
