GAMMA has announced that the best male and female MMA and Striking MMA athletes at the 2022 GAMMA Asian-Pacific Championships will be rewarded with an opportunity to compete at a ONE Lumpinee event in 2023.
ONE Lumpinee is a series of events launched last month by ONE Championship which will take place at the famous Lumpinee stadium in Bangkok, aimed at further developing and showcasing combat sports in Thailand.
This opportunity is another benefit of the strategic partnership that GAMMA has with ONE Championship and follows through on the commitment that GAMMA has in creating tangible pathways for those athletes looking to compete professionally.
Securing one of the coveted spots will be no easy feat as the competition in the ten weight categories for men and seven for women is set to be fierce. Athletes will be judged by a panel of three impartial GAMMA representatives on their performances in the ring as well as their overall competitive attitude throughout the Championships.
Announcing this opportunity, GAMMA President Alexander Engelhardt said, “one of our missions as an organisation is to provide real pathways for athletes from our Championships to the professional promotions. We have already seen the value and success of these opportunities in recent months, and we will continue working with our partners to offer even more chances in the future.”
