Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Sam Kelly

What makes Cage Warriors the top dog in all of European MMA is their propensity to deliver cards that are long on action and entertainment for the price of admission. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a bludgeoning burrower ready to put opponents deep in a dark grave as he enters the CW spotlight. A professional mixed martial artist since May 2021 and representing SBG Rochdale and Rio Grappling Club, Sam Kelly holds a 4-1 record over five bouts comprised of three submissions and one knockout. Kelly fought for several promotions including UK Fighting Championships and Celtic Gladiator prior to debuting with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 146 in November 2022. Kelly has finished all four of his victories during his time in the professional ranks. He is 1-0 with Cage Warriors, with one finish for the promotion with a time of one minute and 31 seconds. Kelly has yet to reach the scorecards at any point during his career as a pro-MMA fighter thus far with a finishing rate of 100 percent to show for it. All of Kelly’s finishes during his time as a professional mixed martial artist have come inside the distance so far.

At MMA Uncaged FC, he faced Pacey Greene and went on to tap him out in the first round via armbar. Kelly defeated Ricardo Moraes in round one at Celtic Gladiator 30. He submitted Diego Gallardo via rear-naked choke in the first round at UK Fighting Championships 19. Then in his promotional debut with Cage Warriors on the preliminary card of Cage Warriors 146, Kelly tapped out Jack Eglin in the second round. The victory earned Kelly the third submission win of his professional career. He also picked up his first win under the Cage Warriors banner in the process. With a tenacious attack ably supported by his love for the tapout, Kelly is always on the hunt for quick cash!
