Jack Grundy – “It will be one-sided on my behalf.”

As we kick off the MMA calendar year, many exceptional fighters will showcase their respective skill-set’s across the UK regional scene, and the UKFC are hosting many explosive bouts on their 22nd card to date on March 4th.

Amongst the vast array of talent on display will be Jack Grundy, who has recently put pen to paper with the Preston based organisation as he sets his sights on a successful 2023 in the Union Jack enclosure.

I caught up with Jack today, as preparations for his return to action kicks into gear for his 4th appearance in his amateur career.

Jack Grundy 2-1-0 is an English amateur Mixed Martial Artist currently competing in the Lightweight Division, representing Team Kaobon. He has competed for Almighty Fighting Championship and UKFC.

I’d like to kick things off by thanking you for taking the time to speak with me again today Jack, and also to congratulate you on your upcoming inclusion to the UKFC 22 card.

“Thanks mate.”

My pleasure Jack.

I hope your continued training with Team Kaobon has been going well in the build-up to your scheduled return to the UKFC cage?

“I’m never out of training. I’m always fit and ready for anything, I’m ready to fight now to be honest.”

From what I’ve seen on your socials, you put in so much work. You really look determined.

As you prepare to take the next step on your amateur journey, you have signed a multi-fight deal with Preston based organisation UKFC. The home of 2 of your 3 outings thus far. One of the UK’s leading regional promotions in moulding the stars of the future, the UKFC has played host to some of the most explosive talents across many world renowned organisations.

What does it mean to you to have been given the platform on your 2023 MMA journey?

“UKFC is one of the biggest promotions for UK MMA, I’m happy to be a part of the very few contracted amateur fighters under their banner. It’s gonna play a big part in my 2023 MMA journey with their consistent shows and matchmaking, I will have the UKFC lightweight belt by the end of the year, no doubt about it.”

Your dedication to the promotion is a joy to see, your loyalty to the UKFC will no doubt bring the rewards.

Since taking your 1st step in the lion’s den back in 2021, you have encountered each aspect of the fight game, Victory, defeat, injuries and a bout cancellation within your career. Each of these encounters, no doubt, has shaped you into the warrior that will step into the Riva Showbar in Preston for the next stage of your career.

As March 4th draws near, and you look back on what has transpired thus far, what have you taken from the past 2 years in the fight game?

“Since taking my 1st step into the cage in  2021 lessons have been learned, and I’m truly not satisfied when I look back. but it just makes me more hungry to go for it now, and really show the world what I’m about.”

I look forward to witnessing your improvements in Preston, I’ve caught all your bouts and always seen different sides to your skill-set.

A new year will no doubt bring forth a new version of yourself, a lot can happen in the space of 6 months and the fans will be eager to witness it live.

What can the fans expect from you once that cage door closes?

“The fans can expect a more improved version of myself every time that cage door closes. Training under Team Kaobon, I improve every day and every fight, they can expect to see the best amateur lightweight on March 4th.”

With your future secured, the 1st step on your multi-fight contract is now set in stone. You are set to take on Workout Soul’s conçalo conde, who will be looking to impress on his second outing with UKFC off the back of his split decision victory at UKFC 21.

What do you make of conçalo in the build-up to your scheduled meeting in the iconic Union Jack enclosure?

“All respect to him, I’m sure he will bring a fight but it will be one-sided on my behalf. That’s my thought’s about the fight.”

Laser focused on victory, a highly admirable statement pal.

It’s been an absolute pleasure speaking with you again today Jack. I wish you all the best for the remainder of your camp, and I look forward to catching you out there.

“Anytime mate.”

Last but not least do you have a message for the fans that will be in attendance and anybody you’d like to give a shout-out to?

“I’d like to thank my team, and sponsors for their continued support on my journey.”

Bouts are being announced left right and centre by Ste Nightingale and his team, to make sure UKFC 22 will outdo previous cards to date. If you have the chance I highly recommend making the evening’s violent festivities, there’s always fireworks at the River Showbar.

Tickets are now available for the violent festivities in Preston from the fighters, and via the UKFC team. Also be on the look put for the PPV via Live MMA. Book your place while you can, you will be in for a night of pure unadulterated organised violence.
